I am le tired–long but profitable day at D-town

I don’t mean for this blog to turn into my personal tip notebook, but working a full day’s shift leaves me close to empty by the end of the day. When I got off work yesterday, for some reason I decided to go for a run that totally destroyed me. I’m not even sure why I subjected myself to such torture, especially when you consider I spend most of my day running on the Denny’s treadmill.

Today the workout was worth it. I made $45.50 in tips, the equivalent of the last two days combined. I barely had a moment to breath. At the same time management was pushing servers to sell the nearly expired desserts. And guess who won the contest?

That’s right, yours truly served a couple apple pies a la mode. The prize: my choice of any nearly expired dessert. I picked the chocolate nut brownie, which I scarfed down on my way to the parking lot because didn’t get a chance to eat lunch—my break was at 9 AM.

Tomorrow I have an interview with Canadian public radio. It will be my last interview until a literary agent has given me the green light to come out of media hibernation. For now, I have been instructed to keep quite, at least until a book is on the shelves.

it IS ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests -- that's what this is all about!

If a book is on the shelves, I will certainly be one of the first to buy it! I wish you good luck in your endeavours!

I have to ask…why the Canadian connections all the time? I’m a proud Canuck (Canadian) and I saw your story featured on a Globe & Mail page and ended up here checking your story out. Now I see that you have landed an interview with Canadian public radio! What’s up? I have to say, we have a lovely country over here you should try to Craigslist your way into another country & see how that goes! think of the writing possibilities…border controls, tim horton’s coffee (possibly for the first time), what are the differences between these 2 neighbouring lands, etc?!!

Love the posts – a lot of fun. You seem to be a really decent non-judgemental guy. We need more!

ps – Obama is right, btw, our health care really is great. despite your news to the contrary…:)
