I really didn’t want to write about Saturday night’s party while I was still feeling the effects of it yesterday. For the most part all I wanted to do was sleep, which I did plenty of after I deep cleaned the basement’s carpet.

The get-together was exactly what I expected and had high school house party written all over it. Maybe it was the fact that everyone was congregating in a basement, or maybe it was the ridiculous drinking games that have become so commonplace at such events, but it was fun and funny to see all of the Denny’s folk out of the restaurant and in their true form.

Clay arrived in his monster pickup wearing his cowboy hat and boots. With him was several of our female server friends. Five inch heels, low cut shirts and enough makeup to put Lady GaGa’s Grammy’s getup to shame.

Aside from people’s outfits, the party can pretty much be encapsulated in this photograph.

Believe me, I took plenty more pictures, but because this is the only one where faces are not visible I feel it is the only one I can publish. Oh, and if you can’t tell, those are two girls getting frisky.

Our friends in the photo were not the only ones to share the Denny’s love. The party was freakishly similar to an episode of Jersey Shore, only no punches were thrown, just a whole lot of Denny’s family incest. A cook and a waitress, a servers and server—there was plenty of love. I of course acted like a creeper and stalked the new lovebirds with my camera.

I want to mention, everyone either found a spot on the couches or went home with a designated driver.

Fast forward to last night. After napping the day away, I went to the movies with a new Craigslist friend. He is not a perfect friend match, but we do have similar interests and he is nice enough to hang out with again.

We saw The Lovely Bones, which at times was a bit too existential for me. The fields of heaven and the strange narration technique felt bizarre at times. I would recommend people see this movie, but wait for it to come out on DVD.
